The pie chart compares the six main ways of travelling to a particular university for a job or to study between 2004 and 2009.
Overall, significantly all methods of transportation have increased, with the exception of cars, over the time period. The bus was the most popular, while the train was the least popular.
Looking at the information in more detail, in 2004, one-third of people chose to travel by bus (33%), which increased by 13 percentage points by the final year. Similarly, bicycles as a method of transport were quite unpopular in the initial year; on the contrary, that increased and accounted for 16% throughout the period. By contrast, using trains for going to work or studying was slightly inclined, which accounts for 4% after 6 years. Additionally, the walking trend also surged and sat at 6%.
With regard to other particulars, at the start of the year, most people used cars for daily transportation (51%), but by the end of the year, this fell dramatically to 28% of the total. It is interesting to see that in 2006, a new bus stop at the university was added. Also, parking private vehicles (especially cars) changed at the university in 2008.
