The pie chart compares the proportion of student registration on six different studies at a local institution in the United Kingdom over a period of two years.
Overall, it is clearly seen that the greatest changes occur in several subjects, especially in sports science, which has increased significantly.
To begin with, in 2010, the most popular educational program was social studies, having just over a quarter of all registration. Although being the most favorite subject in the first year, by 2012 the proportion decreased significantly to just nearly one fifth. At 25.7%, nursing became the second most in demand by the candidates; however, the figure fell considerably to only 14% two years later. At the beginning of the year, the figure of enrolment on sport science courses was fairly low, at about 11,9%. However, this value increased dramatically over the two years, to represent the largest proportion of enrolment in 2012, at just over a quarter.
Less change was seen in the remaining three courses. The number of students who enrolled for engineering was at 12,3% by 2010 and went up slightly to 18,5% in 2012. Psychology, however, remained virtually unchanged. The similar pattern also happened to carpentry, which experienced a low demand, at just under 8%, throughout the period.
