The picture illustrates the structure of a home smokery and the progress about how it works.
It is clear that this home smokery’s structure is divided into two parts: above ground and underground. It requires three steps to work, the first two steps need to be carried out underground while the last step could be manipulated above ground.
The first step is fresh air flow into an empty underground space through a opening lid. Then fresh air goes to the second part of the home smokery. In this step, mixture of fresh air and logs would make logs burn. When the fire start, scorching smoke enters a box on the ground with a pipe. Fllowing this is the last step. There are some foods which are needed to be cooked hanging in the box. The heating somke coming from the second part would suffocate these food until they are cooked.
