The above figure illustrates the construction of water filter and mechanisms involved for the conversion of impure water to pure water fit for drinking purposes.
Overall, while observing the first water filter ,the waste water is filtered which passes through the three layers present in bottom half layer of the tank comprising sand , charcoal and gravel which helps in removing the contaminants present in untreated water passing through it. The charcoal entraps the suspended particles present in the water allowing the further filteration of liquid. The process continues where the water further flows into different phases where the impurities are captured and eliminated simultaneously.
Storage tank is connected to container where the contaminated water is poured is connected via hose or pipe that facilitates the flow of clean water by passing through the gravel bed located at the deep end of the tank. The pipe allows the transfer and storage of clean drinking water into tank fit for consumption.
