The diagram given depicts the process in which perfume is produced by extracting oil from aromatic plants. Overall, the process of making perfume consists of several steps, commencing with heating water and concluding by separating two products including essential oil and aromatic water.
The first step of the process is water inside a glass container is heated under fire. When water reaches boiling point, hot steam is being generated. This steam is then transferred into a tube and goes to a chamber filled with aromatic plants, where steam and oil vapor will be flown through a condenser.
In the latter stages, cold water is pumped into this condenser via a small cylinder, allowing the system cooling down before extracting hot water on the top of the condenser. This process is to produce a mixture of water and essential oil, which is flown to a separator. Coming to the final stages of the process, both hydrolate (aromatic water) and essential oil are contained in a Y-shaped design, helping divide these two substances. The former is extracted through a hole above, while the latter is collected from a bottom pipe.
