The three maps compares alterations to the building of West Park Secondary School during a period of 60 years.
It can be seen that the main building of the school has stayed the same through the years, and other parts were added eventually. Additionally, the two locations near the school were changed in order to make the school area larger.
Major changes happened between the years 1950 and 1980, when houses along the main road gave way to a car park and a science block. Also, the farmland on the left of the playground changed into a sports field. During the next 30 years, Car Park had expanded, and the sports field had shrunk in size.
It is shown that the main building of the school hadn’t changed much. The playground didn’t change between the years 1950 and 1980, and its size is slightly reduced in 2010. Furthermore, after the science block was added in 1980, it has stayed the same for the next 30 years.
