The given illustration depicts the life cycle of a honeybee.
Overall, the longevity of the cycle of a bee is around 34–36 days, and the 6-step cycle begins with female bees laying eggs and ends with their maturity. This is achieved by several phases of development, comprising egg hatching and molting, as well.
The process begins when a female insect lays one or two eggs in a bee nest within three days. Afterward, the eggs hatch on the ninth or tenth day. Before going out from the nest, the offspring spend five days inside their shelters.
During the following stages, young bees shed their skins three times, depending on their body growth. The first molting process happens after one week of the previous stage. When their body growth suffices, they molt within nine days for the second time. Before maturity, in the last molting process, stripes appear on the young insect’s body. The last stage is when the young bee turns into an adult bee, and the process commences again.
