The diagram illustrates stages in the lifespan of a honey bee.
In general, there are four main stages in the development of honey bee and the completely life cycle lasts for about 34 to 36 days, beginning with laying of eggs and finishing with the maturity of the bees.
At the first stage of the process, it can be seen that a typical female honey bee usually lays one or two eggs every three days. After 9 to 10 days, these eggs hatch into immature insects called nymphs.
During the third stage of the life cycle, the nymph grows bigger in size and moults for the first time 5 days later, and then the second time on the next 7th day. The nymph sheds its skin for the last time 9 days after that before emerging to become a young adult honey bee. It takes 4 days for the young bee to reach the full maturity stage and the process can now be repeated.
