The given diagrams present the life cycle of silkworm and how silk cloth is produced. Generally, silkworm goes into four stages to produce moth from eggs, as well as the production of silk cloth goes into three main stages.
To begin with the life cycle of silkworm, silkworm is laid eggs on the mulbury leaf, the process takes ten days to turn to a larva, which the leaf is their main source of food. And then, the larva will wrap themselves by silk thread, this stage takes (4-6) weeks’ time. Subsequently, the wrapped larva needs (3-8) days to turn to a proper cocoon. Eventually, the cocoon will become a moth within 16 days and the cycle continues again.
Turning to the production details of the silk cloth from cocoon to weave. Once being selected, the cocoon is boiled into hot water pot in order to remove insects. After being boiled the cocoon is unwounded manually to extract silk-thread, the thread is (300-900m) long and strengthen together. Having being twisted, the thread is dyed onto a coloured pot and then woven to become a silk cloth.
