The diagrams below illustrates the life cycle of the silk worm and the stages in the production of silk cloth, respectively.
At the first stage, the moth makes some eggs. Then, after 10 days, the silkworm comes out of the eggs and feeds on mulberry leaf. When 4–6 weeks pass, the silkworm called larva makes a silk thread around itself. After some days from 3 to 8, cocoon will become seen. Finally, 16 days later, the moth will arise from the cocoon.
People can produce silk clothes from silk thread. First, some silk thread has to be selected. Then it will be boiled in the water and unwound. After that it will be twisted. And then, we have two options; First, after dying it will become weaved, or after weaving it will be dyed.
To sum up, a silkworm passes a process of becoming a moth. The silk thread that is made through this process, can be collected, and be used in a process of producing a cloth.
