The diagram illustrates the process for producing sugar from sugar cane.
Overall, there are totally 7 stages to make sugar via sugar cane. The first two stages represent for growing and harvesting sugar canes, and the other stages are for manufacturing sugar.
At the first stage of the process, it takes 12-18 months for sugar canes to fully grow. Secondly, the adult plants are then harvested by two methods, using agricultural machines, and cutting down by workers. During the third stage, the harvested sugar canes are transformed into juice by crushing in grinding machine.
At the fourth stage of the process, limestone filter is used to purify the juice. After that, the purified juice is heated in evaporator, becoming boiling syrup during the fifth stage. At the sixth stage, centrifuge is applied to separate sugar crystals from syrup. Finally, the syrup becomes sugar after drying and cooling in a tank.
