Overall, the linear production consists of seven stages, beginning with seawater intake, followed by the desalination and purification stage, and ending with the distribution of fresh water the return of seawater concentrate to the ocean.
The first four steps involve the majority of the desalination process. Initially, an amount of seawater is collected and transferred through an intake screening unit. After this, the water passes through pretreatment filters, which are designed to provide a barrier against sediment and large particles. Subsequently, the water undergoes a removal in a reverse osmosis membrane unit to extract salt and other impurities, ready for the next stage.
The remaining steps produce drinkable water and return concentrate to the ocean. The purified water is taken to a post treatment unit to fulfill the requirements of drinking water standard. Thereafter, the water is stored in a supply tank, before being delivered for households. Meanwhile, the seawater concentrate is returned back to the ocean through an outlet tunnel.
