The diagram illustrates the process of pu’erh tea production. Overall, the procedure consists of several stages, commencing with frying the leaves and culminating with two types of products, namely ripe and raw pu’erh tea.
In the first stage, tea leaves are gathered before being fried in the pan over a particular time. Then they undergo a drying phase, in which the leaves are rolled and spread on a mat to receive heat from the sun. After the drying is completed, loose raw tea is collected, after which it follows two different stages. Regarding the pu’erh ripe tea, the fermentation process of raw tea takes place in a mold, resulting in loose ripe tea, which is then compressed to produce ripe tea.
Concerning pu’erh raw tea, the loose raw tea is immediately compressed after sun drying. Subsequently, the product is transferred to storage, allowing the aging process to obtain vintage pu’erh raw tea.
