The diagram below displays how pencils are produced from the very beginning up until they are packaged. Overall, the process consists of 12 stages and is divided into two main blocks: growing a tree and production in the factory including processing, shaping and packaging.
The process starts with planting a seed of a tree for 4 months after which sprout is replanted to ground . The next step is a 3 year growing process before the thinned tree will be planted in outdoor open space and will be cut after another 14 years.
Second block of production begins with transformation from tree to wood which is thinned into slices and treated for 60 days. Prepared slat is converted to black lead and consequently are sticked to groove with the help of glue. At the next stage new plank is added on the top of the described one, resulting in sandwich shape. The blocks are hard-pressed, heated and cut into the more commonly known design of pencils. After adding such details as branding, number of series, pencils are sorted into packaging and are dispatched for distribution to stores.
