Overall, the process consists of three different stages, beginning with the collection of used bottles and ending with the release of products onto the market.
First, post-consumer glass bottles are collected from customers. Then, they are transported by truck to be recycled. At a cleaning plant, the collected bottles are cleaned under high pressurised water, in the first step of the recycling process. After cleaning, they are separated into 3 kinds of glass: green, brown, and clear.
Once these steps are complete, a glass factory takes in and handles the sorted glass bottles. They are crushed into small pieces, which then are heated to 800 degrees Celsiusin the furnace until they become liquid and form new glass. Next, this mixture is poured into moulds in the shape of a bottle. When the recycled process is converted the finish products, they are filled and packed to be distributed to supermarkets and reach the hands of consumers
