The diagram represents how water is used to generate hydroelectric power through various natural and mechanical processes.
Overall, electricity production relies compeletely on the movement of water, starting with evaporation and rainfall and ending with the distribution to the consumers.
Firstly, the water from the sea evaporates due to heat from the sun and forms clouds which then produces rainfall. Thereafter, the water is collected in a reservoir where the flow is controlled by a valve, which is used to open and close in order to regulate the amount of water to be released. After that, water then travels through a pipe into a turbine which is rotated by the force of water producing electricity. Subsequently, the remaining water then reaches the pump from where it can be pumped back towards the reservoir allowing the process to continue.
This electricity is then tranferred through high-voltage cables to a transformer station. Finally, the power is delivered through underground cables to various users such as homes, schools and hospitals.
