Overall, the diagram illustrates a continuous cycle in which water moves between Earth’s surface and atmosphere through several stages. It mainly involves three stages: evaporation, condensation and collection. After precipitation, infiltered water goes back to stream. In addition, trees contributes in this cycle through evapotranspiration.
The process can be traced to evaporation, in which water from constantly flowing stream evaporates due to exposure to sun. Once the water has evaporated, it rises into the atmosphere and eventually cools for condensation of clouds. Following this, precipitation starts in the form of rain over the Earth and lots of infiltration occur after falling of rainfall water over the soil.
In the subsequent stage, the soil water and ground water over bedrock, the latter has high flow, flows back to the stream. Moreover, trees also participate in water cycle through the process of evapotranspiration, in which trees release evaporated water after transpiration . This water either runoffs towards stream or rises up in the atmosphere. The process then continues in a closed loop.
