The picture illustrates the process of making honey in small-scale commercial production. Overall, there are two main phases in the process. The first one is accompanied by bees, while the second one fully relies on human’s labour. The process starts with collecting nectar and ends with putting the honey into jars and selling it afterwards.
First, nectar is collected directly from the flowers by bees. After that nectar is deposited into honey. Then, the honey is dried by the movement of fan wings. Throughout this step all the cells are kept sterile for bees’ usage. When the honey is ready, it is sealed with wax by a specialist.
Next, the honey combs are gathered and pressed by a machine to get the honey out. The honey is then put into a sump tank that is heated at 45-50C. After heating, it goes through a sieve tank, where all the unnecessary dirt and unwanted substances are removed. Before being put into jars, the honey is first transported into the settling tank for 2-4 days. After that, it is ready to be sold to customers.
