The illustration demonstrates the sequence of cooking in a solar box oven. Overall, there are 6 steps employed in the process, starting with putting a plate of vegetables in a solar box, and ending with a pot inside the solar box.
The first four steps involve the cooking process of vegetables. Initially, preparing a box that can absorb solar energy to heat food. After this, a plate of food is conveyed into a smaller box. Subsequently, the bottom of the larger box is filled with materials including shredded newspaper, grass and sawdust to heat more effectively, ready for the next stage.
Turning to the remaining steps. The vegetables in a pot are then sealed with a foil cover and a glass lid on top to create a greenhouse effect. Moreover, the entire set up must be exposed to direct sunlight, ensuring that the temperature reaches up to 82 degrees Celsius. Finally, the box traps the heat and maintains it until the cooking process is completed.
