The maps provide information about the transformation of the Sowry District Neighbourhood in the years 1920 and 2020.
Overall the Neighbourhood developed over time with new apartments, houses shops, while the local school was reconstructed and replaced.
In 1920, there was a Tulebug Bros Canners building on the upper left corner of the map while the Elmwood river and beach could be found on the upper right corner of the layout in the middle of the map featured the Osk Avenue with houses and shopping facilities on either side. The primary school was situated on the bottom left corner of the map with Miller’s Lake in close proximity. The right-hand side of Miller’s lake, there was a row of trees.
In 2020, the Tulenbug Bros Cannery building had been replaced by a new Yong Office Complex. The primary school had been removed to make space for a petrol station and a new primary school had been built on the right-hand side of the Miller’s Lake to replace some trees new apartments shops and houses have been added on either side of the Osk Avenue. Beach had been substituted with bike pass and a new bridge had been built over the Elmwood river .Despite these changes Oak Avenue stayed same in its original position.
