The diagram gives information about developmental stages of silkworm during its lifetime including the steps involved in silk cloth production process.
Generally, there will be two types of process which is natural for silkworm life cycle and man-made in the silk cloth production. Silkworm life cycle has 4 steps and silk cloth production have around 5 steps.
Initially, the adult moth delivered the eggs then in 10 days it will be evolved into larvae. That form roam around mulberry leaf as it is their source of nutrients. After one or one and a half month the larvae will wrapped around silk thread, by then we could call as cocoon. The cocoon apparently growth into moth after 16 days.
The silk production-process using cocoon as the main material. Those substance will be plunged into the water to start the boiling steps. Next, unwind process take part, as it should be able to make 300-900 metres of silk thread. Then, it will have to be twisted before proceeding to be weaved. This process of twisting and weaving shall be continued by dyeing to give certain color to the end-product of silk cloth.
