The illustrations reveal the steps involved in producing cement and how this ingredient is utilized for concrete making that is essential for construction.
Overall, it is clear from the diagrams that whereas cement manufacturing requires about six steps, only two stages are needed to produce concrete. Additionally, while just two elements are included in the cement-making process, the concrete-making process needs four.
Moving to the process of cement production, it starts with crushing limestone and clay together, which results in a powder. Afterwards, the powder is mixed thoroughly before it is sent to a rotating heater. Having been heated, the resultant mixture is then ground and packed into bags of ready-to-use cement.
As for producing concrete, four ingredients need to be present, namely cement, water, sand, and small stones, which are called gravel. Half of the concrete consists of gravel, while sand constitutes a quarter. Meanwhile, the share of water is one-tenth, and the remainder is accounted for by 15% cement. All of these are placed into a concrete mixer, which turns around horizontally.
