The two presented maps illustrate some significant transformations in Dubai from the past to the present day.
Overall, there is a wide array of modernisations and erections compared with in the past, especially buildings and residential areas around the roundabout; however, still have some infrastructures didn’t experience any changes during the period.
Looking at the map more closely, one of the most changed parts is the deserts and green areas have been removed and replaced by more and more erections of the skyscrapers and high-rise buildings, located in the east of Dubai city. Moreover, nowadays, the city is more crowded than in the past because of the growing population and the rapid number of vehicles in the streets, in particularly private transports.
In contrast, the roundabout and main streets remain unchanged, are still as the same as last decades. Furthermore, no facilities or buildings were built on a large area in the south of the city.
