The maps illustrate some of the developments in Dubai in the last century. It is clear that the city has become more residential.
Looking at the two maps, it is evident that this city has changed significantly in recent decades. Dubai has become more modernized and the number of cars has increased substantially. The main square and roads, however, still remain the same as they always were.
Trees have been cut down to make way for the construction of skyscrapers in the north of the main square, moreover, trees have been planted in the middle of the roundabout. Furthermore, the land which is located in the south of the map has become a wasteland by cutting trees. The city was silent and serene, as opposed to overcrowded and busy city that exists now.
Overall, there has been a great deal of development in the north of the main square of Dubai and the city has become more residential and modern.
