In terms of total immigrants, Germany and Britain record the highest figures, with 1,198,000 and 1,037,000 respectively. Italy follows with 863,670, while Spain and Poland receive considerably fewer, at 202,170 and 6,000. It is worth noting that Poland, despite being the least attractive to foreigners, has the largest number of its own citizens living abroad.
Regarding emigration, Poland stands out with the largest number of its citizens abroad, totalling 1,168,000. Italy ranks second with 863,670, whereas Spain has the smallest emigrant population, at only 202,170.
Looking at bilateral flows, the largest group is Italians in Germany, accounting for 556,000 people. The second largest is Poles in Britain, with 550,000. By contrast, very small numbers are observed for Spanish and Italian migrants in Poland, with only 170 and 670 respectively.
