Overall, it can be seen that the figure for immigration and emigrations were rose with the period. However, the number of immigrants were slightly more than the emigrates. The net migrate was the highest in the year 2004.
To commence with, in 1999, the figure for immigrants in UK was stood at 450 thousand which increased gradually and reached around 500 thousand in 2003, followed by emigrants, the number was 300 thousand initial and this number went to 350 thousand after five years. The number of UK immigration was nearly 600 in 2004 which was the highest through the period after that this corresponding figure decreased moderately and accounted for 590 thousand approximately by 2006. By contrast, the number of emigrants rose from 350 to 420 between 2007 and 2008.
Moving further, the figure for net migrates were the highest in 2004 and 2007 which was around 250 thousand and 230 thousand respectively.However in the rest all years the total number of migration was below 200 thousand.
