In general, Watching TV or videos was the most popular activity for both genders. In addtion, it is clearly apparent thay boys recorded higher participation rates in Electronic or computer games, Bike riding and Skateboarding or rollerblading, while girls were more involved in Art and Craft.
Regarding the most common activities, Watching TV or videos recorded equal proportions of 100% for both Australian boys and girls. Electronic or Computer games are much more preferred by boys than by girls, with respective figures being around 82% and nearly 60%. Similarly, Bike riding also attracted more boys than more girls. About 75% of boys, while the figure for girls was lower, at approximately 57%.
Around 38% of 5-14-year-old boys enjoy Skateboarding or rollerblading, whereas the percentage of girls at this age is only about 25%. In contrast, Art and Craft represented the only category that girls outnumbered boys, with nearly 58% of females taking part, compared to only about 35% of males.
