The line graph provided shows the expenditure of the government research in the State on five different sectors, namely, health, space, energy, general science and others over two decades, from 1980 to 2008.
Notably, health research garnered a substantial investment, starting at around 5 billion in 1980 and peaking at 20 billion in 2008. The expenditure on this research has had a substantial surge through the years. In particular, from 1984 until 2000, it dramatically rose, reaching doubled, whereas the expenditure on research about general science is the least, which is almost half of expenses. Yet it has a continuous increment over a span of two decades.
While space research, energy research, and other research areas received nearly equivalent funding, each their number has slightly changed afterwards, resulting in the amount of space’s expenditure reaching second- highest position in later years.
Yet twenty years have passed, the government generally spends their budget more to solve health issues.
