The line graph illustrates the number of participants engaging in five types of activities at a social centre in Melbourne over a 20-year period, from 2000 to 2020.
Overall, the film club consistently had the highest number of participants, while table tennis experienced the most dramatic growth. In contrast, amateur dramatics saw a steady decline, and musical performances remained the least popular activity, despite gradual growth.
In 2000, the film club was the most popular activity with around 65 participants. Although this number slightly decreased by 2010, it returned to nearly the same level (around 66) by 2020. Martial arts attracted approximately 35 people at the beginning, remained relatively stable, and finished at around 36 participants. Amateur dramatics, which had roughly 25 participants in 2000, saw a brief rise to 30 by 2005, followed by a continuous decline, dropping to just under 10 by 2020.
Table tennis began with the lowest number of attendees among the main sports (around 15) but experienced a significant increase throughout the period, surpassing martial arts and amateur dramatics, and reaching over 55 by 2020. Musical performances started with only 2–3 participants, but this number gradually increased to about 20, indicating a modest but steady rise in popularity.
