The report is going to discuss the process of weather forecasting according to the Australian Bureau of Meteorology. The diagram evident shows the process of information collection for valid weather forecasts.
The diagram portrays the forecasting process for three types of broadcasts- television, radio and telephone or recorded announcement. The main source of information is the satellite. For television broadcast, the information from satellite photographs is then analysed and forecasted. The broadcast is prepared on computers and then presented on television by TV newsreader.
For weather forecasts on radio, the process is similar to that of television forecasting. A radar is used to collect information from the satellite and to form a radar screen. The screen is then analysed and forecasted, the broadcast is prepared on computer and then announced on radio.
For recorded announcements, a synoptic chart is analysed and the broadcast is prepared before releasing it. The synoptic chart is drafted from the radar, which collects information from satellite and/or the drifting buoy. The recorded announcement can be broadcasted on telephones.
