The chart provides information regarding the annual percentage of public transport use in a nation in 2016, which is classified by age group and kind of residence. In general, the percentage of public transport users based on the age classification in the big city residents was higher than in the other residents, except for the 61 – 75 age group. The most transportation users in large cities are dominated by middle-age people, who are in the age group 31 -45 years. Meanwhile, the young people of 16 – 30 years age were the highest users of transportation in other residents’ areas.
Looking at the details, the productive age group, which is 16 -30 years and 31 – 45 years, were the most transport users in the big city area, accounting for 55% and 65%, respectively. Then, about 40% of the transport users experienced by each of the 0 -15 and 46 – 60 age groups. Besides that, the adult people of 61- 75 years and 76+ years were less using public transportation than other groups of age in this large city, which accounted for 10% and 15 %, respectively. Surprisingly, the number of elderly people in the 76+ years old group were using public transport more than the other elderly 61 – 75 years group.
Looking at the other details, the people in the 16 – 30 years group were the most transport users in the other residents areas that accounted for 25%. Then, 15% of public transport users experienced the groups of infants-children-teenagers in 0-15 years and the productive age in 31-45 years and 46-60 years, respectively. Furthermore, around 20% of public transport in other residents was used by elderly people in 61-75 years groups and 15% of it was used by 76+ years.
