Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that , people whose age under 45 enjoyed gym activity most of the time while the opposite was true for individuals over 45 years old.
For people from 18 to 25 years old, they experienced a gradual increase in the percentages of gym participants from 1984 to 1994, before rising significantly to over 60% in the last 9 years. There was a slight increase in the number of people from 26 to 45 going to the gym between 1984 and 1989, the this figure witnessed a slight decrease from about 40% to 32 % in the next five years before they experienced the jump from nearly 35% to more than 50%.
In terms of the people from 46 to 65, although the period between 1984 to 1989 enjoyed a minimal increase of people who visited the gym from nearly 25% to 30%, it went down extremely from 30% to nearly 15% after 1989. For people more than 65 years old, they experienced a small number of gym participants for most of the time before the steady rise from less than 10% to nearly 20% after 1992.
