The line charts gave information about how many grams of potatoes, pasta and rice that European country people’s ate from 1976 to 2006.
In generall, while the amount of potatoes and rice being eaten followed the downward trends, the figure for Pasta said opposite. Additionally, by the end of the period, Pasta had surpassed Potatoes to become the most eaten food per week overall.
As can been seen from the graph, at the beginning of the period, the amount of Potatoes was the highest point among these figures with 400 grams and then increased gradually to about 450 grams in 1981. After that, the porpotion decreased dramatically and ended with 100 grams in 2006. Following the same trend, the Rice figure starting with 300 grams in 1976 but fell noticeably to under 200 grams in 1991 and by the end was slightly over 200 grams being eaten.
In contrast, the Pasta began with about 300 grams which was the lowest point in 1976. In addition, the figure hit the peak with 500 grams in 1996 and remained steady from that time to 2006. Notably, although the figure for Pasta started with the lowest point, the poportion became the highest amount of grams in European country, while the figure for Potatoes was reached the bottom of contribution by the end.
