Overall, a much larger percentage of Vietnamese students who studied in France and America witnessed an upward trend in comparison with Russia. Additionally, during the period, the highest figure can be seen in America.
In 2000, the proportion of students studying in France hit the highest point, while the figures for Russia and America were lower, at about 3 million and 2.5 million respectively. Over the next five years, the percentage of students in America increased gradually to 2 million. By contrast, the proportion of Vietnamese students in France witnessed a steady decrease of 2,5 million. At the same time, the figure for Russia declined slightly of 2,2 million.
After 2005, the number of Vietnamese students in Russia hit a lowest point to 2 million in 2010 but increased gradually to 2.5 million in 2015. While studying in France increased slightly of 2 million from 2005 to 2015, the percentage of students studying in America reached a peak of 5 million in 2015.
