Overall, it can be seen from the graph that the trends in using various modes of transportation has been changing through the given periods. Furthermore, it is shown that the most popular mode of transportation in 1950 was travelling on foot, while in 1990 residents of this city tended to travel by car.
From 1950 to 1970, the proportion of people going on foot has declined sharply from just below 40% (1950) to nearly 20% (1970), while other types of driving, as cars or buses experienced a growth in popularity. Bikes became less popular too, dropping from around 30% to just above 20%.
It is notable, that in 1990 the biggest part of citizen of the given city turned to use cars to reach their workplaces, while all 3 other travelling modes have decreased in percentage: buses – more than 15%, bikes – less than 10% and foot – nearly 10%.
