The bar chart illustrates, the amount of waste disposed via landfill, burning and dumping at sea from 2005 and 2008, measured in tonnes.
Overall, three methods fluctuated between 2005 and 2008. Landfill experienced significantly changes over the period, while burning and dumping at sea showed relatively resembling changes. All of the methods ended the year with similar results.
Looking at the details, the amount of waste disposed via landfill was 1800 million tonnes in 2005, then it significantly decreased from 1800 to 1200 tonnes in 2006, after which it dropped to 900 tonnes in 2007 and ended the year with 600 tonnes in 2008. Meanwhile, the burning initially stood at 500 tonnes in 2005, then in 2006 increased a little to 600 tonnes, in 2007 it reached 700 tonnes, but in 2008, it gradually increased to 900 tonnes.
Turning to dumping at sea, the amount of waste disposed via dumping at sea started with 600 tonnes in 2005, but over the 2 years it remained the same amount. In 2008 it declined a little from 600 tonnes to 590 tonnes. Compared with other methods, dumping at sea had minimal changes over the period.
