The bar graph provides information about the changes in the number of elephants in the nine different Asian countries from 1997 to 2004.
Overall, it is clearly seen that the highest changes belonged to India in both 1997 and 2004. Additionally, the lowest variations were in China during the given years.
While the number of elephants in India,Malaysia and Thailand was high in 1997, there was a sharp decline after seven years. This decrease was approximately equal to 2000 in the given countries. These indicators were nearly from 10000 to 8000 in India, from 3500 to 1500 in Malaysia and from 4000 to 2000 in Thailand.
The highest number of elephants among the other six states belonged to Myanmar with roughly 5000 and the lowest ones were about 1000 elephants in China. It is obvious that there were not significant variations in Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and Laos over across seven years. In contrast, in 1997 the number of elephants was higher than in 2004 in Vietnam, these tendencies were different in the other three countries, so these figures were slightly lower than in 2004
