The line graph illustrates the number of books which were read in two categories, men and women, at Burnaby Public Library between the years 2011 and 2014.
It can be clearly seen from the graph that the number of books read by men had a significant rise all over the period. Although the figure for books read by women increased sharply in the first years, this number decreased dramatically after 2013.
The number of books read by women increased considerably from around 4500 in 2011 to 10000 in 2013. By contrast, this figure saw a dramatic drop from 2013 to 2014, changed from 10000 to 6500. This number for men started to rise gradually from 2500 in 2011 to 4000 in 2012, then a dramatic increase happened to reach a peak of 14000 in 2014.
On the one hand, the number of books read by women was 4500, which was higher than the figure for men in the first year. On the other hand, the number of woman’s book was 6500 in the last year, which was smaller compared to men’s report.
