Band 5: The graph below shows the number of overseas visitors who came to the UK for different purposes between 1989 and 2009. Summarize and reporting the main features. (User-Written IELTS Writing Task 1 Sample)

The graph illustrates the number of visitors who came to the United Kingdom for different reasonses and purposes beetween 1989 and 2009.

Overall, it is clear that all three reasons are increased from the beginning. Each purpose has differ in height. In general, the highest figure can be seen in holiday. Moreover lowest is meeting friends or relatives.

To compare this main factors that US’s visitors came to this place , meeting relatives and friends is slightly increased since 1989. From 3.5 million visitors to 6 million visitors at all. However , it’s not the highest results. In 2009 there were 7 million visitors and after time this quantity is sharply decreased to 6 million visitors. The business is second in quantity in graph. Business is unstable , so graph shows us that from 5 million people is fallen to 4 , moreover since 1994 to 2009 is rise to 8 million and then decreased to 7 mil. The holiday reason is the highest purpose. It’s not stable as well as business reason. In 1994 is sharply increased , in 1999 is significantly decreased and in 2004 is abruptly increased.
