Overall, it is evident that voice calls (landline), voice calls (mobile) and text messaging were the most used methods of communication in 2005, while social media messaging and video calling were much less popular, but increased significantly by 2023.
The figure for voice calls (landline) was the highest across all in 2005 and stood at approximately 85%, but declined dramatically to arround 20% by 2023. At the same time, voice calls (mobile) and text messaging had almost the same pattern throughtout the period. Both started between 60% and 65% and were growing considerably, but in 2015 the figure for text messaging began to decline, and by 2023 stood at just under 60%.
