The line graph gives information about the proportion of imports in Japan, the US, China and India from Australia between 1990 to 2012.
It is clear that while the percentage of China’s imports increased, the figure of Japan decreased over the period. In addition, the 22-year stage witnessed fluctuates in the remaining countries.
In China, Australian exports accounted nearly 0% in 1990, then went up slightly by 5% in the next 5 years and surged at more than a quarter in later years. On the contrast, the figure in Japan occupied roughly 25% at the beginning, followed by a considerable reduce at a fifth then almost staying remained under 20% during the period.
In terms of India, the percentage of Australian exports accounted for nothing until 2000, then raised to over 5% in 2010 and declined insignificantly later. Similarly, the figure in the US occupied more than 10% in 1990, which fluctuated in the next 10 years, followed by a dramatic decline by 5% then went up in 2012.
