The presented line graph delineates the proportion of individuals in the different age groups going to the cinema at least once a month in a certain country from 1978 to 2008.
Overall, all age groups experienced a decline in visiting the cinema in the first decade and then increased. Remarkably, the percentage of people between 14-24 was the most significant, whereas the data for people who aged over 50 was the lowest.
In detail, around 90% of people between 14-24 visiting the cinema in the initial year, but then it saw a mild fluctuation before decreasing to nearly 86% in 2008. Concerning young people from 25-34, this figure witnessed a remarkable decline from 80% to just under 60% in the first decade; however, it surged to 80% again in 1998 and terminated the period with roughly 77%.
Turning to the other categories, in the course of the first 10 years, 35-49 and over 50 age groups registered a considerable decrease of 10% from 60% to 50% and approximately 41% to 30%, respectively. However, both age groups saw a notable rise with 70% for individuals aged 35-49 and 60% for ones aged over 50 from 1988 to 1998. Both age groups maintained relatively static during the rest of the given time frame.
