Overall, there was a steady increase in Olive Ridley Turtles which was at its peak in 2012, while Leatherback Turtles witnessed a sharp decrease after the first 6 years and it was at least number in 2012.
The population of Leatherback Turtles rose at the start from 100 in 1980 to just above 110 in 1987 and then rapidly decreased up to 2008 and 2012 with the lowest count just below 60. Similarly, Olive Ridley Turtles rose rapidly from 1980 to 1997 with 100 to just over 130 respectively before seeing a fluctuation between 1997 and 2012. It was below 130 in 2012.
On the other hand, Green Turtles and All species witnessed relatively the same fluctuation over the whole period that experienced the same change from 1980 to 1999 with just below 100 after this period they diverged, All species just went up 100 and green Turtles declined which was around 90.
