The line graph illustrates the total number of various turtles, namely leatherback turtles, green turtles, olive ridley turtles, and other species in India between 1980 and 2012.
Overall, the leatherback turtles population increased, whereas the olive ridley turtles shown a decreased trend. Meanwhile, green turtles and all other species population almost remained constant at the end, in spite of fluctuations in the middle.
Leatherback species rose gradually and reached a peak at the population index of almost 140 in 1997, then oscillated between 1997 and 2012. In contrast to this, olive ridley varieties fluctuated initially till 1987, then reduced steadily to reach index below 60 in 2012.
Green turtles and other species oscillated almost at a constant rate till 1993. From 1993 onwards, green varieties showed slight increasing trend to end up at the index of above 100, whereas other species exhibited a decreasing trend to finish at the index 90.
