Overall, it can be observed that the prices of brown and white bread increased over the period, while wholegrain bread fluctuated considerably. In addition, rye was the cheapest variety.

In 2001, wholegrain bread stood at 0.8 dollar before increasing significantly to approximately 1.8 dollar in 2002. The figure then decreased considerably to reach around 1 dollar in 2003. It then dropped gradually to about 0.7 dollar in 2004 and rose slowly to roughly 0.8 dollar in 2005. By contrast, brown bread accounted for 0.6 dollar in 2001 before claiming rapidly to approximately 1.5 dollar in 2002.
