The graph below illustrates the number of smokers per 1000 people in Someland among both male and female over a distinct time period between 1960 and 2000.
Overal, It is evident that in 1960 there was more smokers among meb and they recorded a highest point. Meanwhile, the number of smoking women was very low by 1960. Howerer, in the following years both genders folloved a different trends with male’s figure continuously decreased, and women’s number, by contrast, rose steadily.
Examining the table in more detail, men peaked at around 600 smokers per 1000 by 1960, before starting to fall gradually until the end of 2000. They accounted a slight growth for three times: in 1970, 1980 and 1990. Despite the few fluctuations, their number of smoking people continued decreasing and ended at aproximately 250 people.
Female figure, on the other hand, started from the bottom of 100 smokers and followed an upward trend throughout the period. They maintaned around 190 smoking women, before having a brief rise to around 320 smokers in 1975. In 1980 the figure remained unchanged. Afterwards, the number of smokers decreased until 2000 when it almost evened out with men at approximately 200.
