The line graph illustrates the usage of different websites, namely Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter, by adults in the United States from 2012 to 2015.
The percentage of people using all the websites showed a slight, steady increase during the 4 years, except for LinkedIn, which showed a mild decline starting in 2014.
Facebook has been the most dominantly used website, with 67% in 2012 and a 5% increase until 2015. The least popular website in 2012 was Instagram, with only 13%, which more than doubled in popularity (reaching 28%) and gave its place to Twitter in 2015 with 23%. Another picture-dominant website, Pinterest, also became similarly trendy, with 16% more users in 2015 compared to 2012 (15-31%). LinkedIn, which was the second most popular at the beginning of this period, became the second least favoured website by 2015, with 25% of adults using it in the USA.
Overall, it is evident that the number of American adults using, nearly, all these websites has increased annually, which may be a result of their user-friendliness and the fact that more adults have become digitally literate and thus keen on using these platforms.
