It is evident, the number of elderly people will see a sharp rise in the upcoming decades even though they initally consisted a very little of the time total population. The percentage of children will also plummet in the future to come.
In 1960, around 55% of the total pouplation were from age 15-64 group. This trend continued till 2000, and afterwards there was a decline in their overall number. On the other hand, eventhough the people form age group of 65+ started off as the least amount at best 15% of the overall population . Later this group only experienced a rise in their collective number. In 1990, this group of people overtook the age group of 0-14 by being at 20% of the total population. It is predicted that by 2040 these elderly group will be as much as 50%. Moreover, the steady decilnation of age group of 0-14 will lead them to be at all time at 10% by the year 2040.
