The bar chart below illustrates how many V barrels per day were produced by six Gulf countries, namely Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE between 1990 and 2010.
Overall, the millions of V barrels of the six countries were likely to increase through the period with the exception of the figure for Qatar. The amount of oil produced by Saudi Arabia comprised the highest, while Qatar had the lowest amount of produced oil in 20 years.
Regarding the two countries that had the highest and the lowest amounts of oil, in 1990, Qatar witnessed a neglected amount, compared to the highest figure for Saudi Arabia, slightly over 8 million V barrels per day. From 1990 to 2010, the figure for Saudi Arabia significantly increased by nearly 2 times to about 14 million V barrels per day, while after a slight rise, Qatar declined to nearly 0.5 million V barrels per day.
In terms of other countries, the oil production capacity of Iran ranked first among the three countries in 1990. The millions of V barrels from UAE, Iraq, and Kuwait ranked the second, the third, and the fourth, respectively, with around 2 million V barrels. In the same period, except for the stable figure of UAE from 1990 to 2000 and a slight increase of nearly 4 million V barrels, the three countries grew comparatively to around 4 million V barrels.
