Band 7: The graph shows stoc price of four companies between 2011 and 2016 (User-Written IELTS Writing Task 1 Sample)

The graph above illustrates the variation in stock price of four different multinational companies between 2011 and 2016.

Overall, the stock price of Google remained roughly constant throughout the 5-year time period, leveling at an average of 1000.

Initially, in 2011, two of four companies had an equivalent stock value of approximately 7500, namely Facebook and Yahoo. While Facebook experienced a steady incline in market price, eventually peaking at 2016 with a stock price of 20000, on the contrary, Yahoo had a gradual decrease in value, troughing at a mere 2500, facing almost a 75% drop in value.

Lastly, Apple experienced a dramatic rise in value between 2011 and 2012. From 5000 stock price in 2011, the value increased seven-fold, peaking at 35000. However, the following year, the price plummeted back to roughly 7000. Through the next 3 years, the stock price of Apple endured a gradual decline, despite a few fluctuations, eventually ending up as the 2nd most valuable company of the four.
